Crafting Excellence: Aramore and Astoria Development Project by Willmer Engineering

The Aramore and Astoria are two buildings in a mixed-use mid-rise condominium development located in the heart of Buckhead on Peachtree Road in Atlanta, Georgia.

The first two phases of development consist of street level retail establishments below 6 stories of custom finished condominiums with an integrated pre-cast parking deck.

The $51 million Astoria Condominium completes Phase III, consisting of a four level parking garage and three levels of office/retail space below 12 stories of custom finished condominiums.

Willmer performed Phase I and II environmental site assessments during the planning and design phases of the Aramore and Astoria. Willmer also provided geotechnical engineering recommendations for foundations, excavation and soil nailed slopes as well as all construction materials testing and inspection services during the Aramore phases and special inspections for the Astoria. The Aramore building and garage are post-tensioned concrete structures bearing on geopiers extending through old fill into residual soils. The Astoria building and garage are also post-tensioned concrete structures. The building is supported on drilled piers bearing in rock while the parking garage is supported on shallow spread footings.
