Project

PIEDMONT PHYSICIANS CENTER

A medical office building was designed for the Piedmont Hospital Campus on Peachtree Street and Collier Road in Atlanta.

The structure consists of a 330,000 SF, eight-story parking deck supporting a 125,000 SF, five-story physician’s office tower. Structural column loads are 1900 kips.

Willmer performed an environmental assessment of the site to resolve suspect petroleum hydrocarbon impacts. A geotechnical exploration was performed consisting of extensive soil borings with rock coring to provide value engineering recommendations for comparison of deep auger cast piles versus drilled pier foundation support. Design parameters for retaining structures and rock anchors were also provided. Seismic site classification parameters were computed.

During construction, Willmer provided auger cast pile inspection, earthwork testing, concrete sampling and testing, structural steel inspection and NPDES storm water monitoring.
