Project

WHOLE FOODS RETAIL STORE

The project consisted of the design and construction of a new 45,000 square-foot Whole Foods retail store, including driveways and about 120,000 square feet of parking space.

The proposed Whole Foods building is a high-bay single-story structure. Whole Foods is one of the primary anchor stores for the new multi-use 50-acre development located at Barrett Parkway and Highway 41 in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Willmer performed a preliminary subsurface exploration for the site. The objective of that study was to obtain rock depth information across the entire Barrett Parkway Shopping Center site. A detailed geotechnical exploration was performed for the Whole Foods Store site in accordance with their corporate specifications. Detailed recommendations were provided for rock and soil excavation and compaction, shallow foundation design, slab support pavement design, retaining wall earth pressure, parameters and seismic site classification.
